Education
The top-notch East Brunswick Public School System consists of eight elementary schools: Bowne-Munro, Central, Chittick, Frost, Irwin, Lawrence Brook, Memorial and Warnsdorfer. There are two middle-level schools, Hammarskjold Middle School (HMS) for sixth and seventh graders, and Churchill Junior High School (CJHS) for grades eight and nine. The secondary school of the district is the award-winning East Brunswick High School (EBHS).
East Brunswick Public Library
The East Brunswick Public Library has been voted the "Best Public Library in Central New Jersey" for several years in a row by readers of the Home News Tribune. It is the busiest single municipal library building in the state of New Jersey, and is open more often than any other library in the state. EBTV, the library's own municipal cable television station, produces 200 original programs each year as well. It also offers a Community Bulletin Board that updates residents on township news and updates. This station is watched by more than 75 percent of residents' homes. It is the only government-run station to come out with a weekly video news magazine.
Health and Medical
East Brunswick has a remarkable medical community. Development in the center of the township, away from the heavily traveled and developed commercial area on Route 18, has created an influx of doctors, dentists, and other ancillary medical providers in the Cranbury Road section. Central Jersey's largest radiology group, The University Radiology Group, P.C., is headquartered in East Brunswick and has recently expanded its facility to house a second MRI diagnostic machine. There are approximately 101 dentists with offices in East Brunswick. Physical therapists, ambulance service companies and other medical service providers including four medical labs operate offices in the township as well.
Recreation
The Crystal Springs Aquatic Facility offers a blue water swimming area with a lazy river, Olympic size lap pool, several wading pools, and a water slide. Tamarack Golf Club, which includes two 18-hole courses and is owned by Middlesex County, is also located in the Township. A community theater group, Playhouse 22, performs major Broadway shows and children's shows.
